Coconut Honey Hand Cream

1/2 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup melted pure beeswax (net weight 2 oz. solid beeswax) or one pure unscented beeswax votive candle
1 tbsp. Pure honey
1/4 tsp. Tropical fragrance oil*
Wide-mouthed jar
Miscellaneous items: microwave, microwave-safe large bowl, large metal spoon

* Atlantic Spice Co. Tropical fragrance oil was used in the sample project.

Make the Hand Cream
1)Place the beeswax in the bowl and microwave 3 minutes on high heat Note: You may need to heat up to an additional 1 1/2 minutes to completely melt the beeswax, depending on your microwave.
2)Remove the beeswax from the microwave and add the coconut oil, honey and fragrance. Stir well.
3)Reheat approx. 20-30 seconds until completely liquefied. Remove from the microwave and stir well.
4)Refrigerate for 5 minutes and then stir until a thick, smooth cream is formed.
5)Scoop the mixture into the jar and cap tightly.

Storing the Hand Cream
Store the cream in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. The product will last approximately four months. Coconut oil liquefies at 72 degrees F. To prevent the cream from separating, store it away from heat. If the cream does separate, stir it with a spoon and refrigerate for a few minutes until it becomes solid again.
