Thick & Rich Body Cream
As we approach January, it is hard to not feel as parched as the bare tree limbs outside.
It is this time of the year that I practically bathe in a product we have carried for over 17 years - Thick and Rich Body Cream
One of the very first products I ever made, I still make every batch myself in store. It contains three simple ingredients organic olive oil, beeswax (from a lovely apiary upstate that I found at the union square farmer’s market and calendula extract. Calendula extract is the oil from a marigold plant and has long been used as a natural skin elixir. It helps to soothe red skin and I always put it on my son’s (and my own) cuts and scrapes. My Grandfather would buy it by the bucket from me to rub on his psoriasis which disappeared after 3 months of continuous use. And we all know how delicious olive oil is – but not just for eating - it has long been used in the Mediterranean as a natural beauty product.
Thick and Rich is literal to its name and it is not a light cream . It does go on a bit greasy – but will quickly soak right into your skin and help keep it moist and supple.
Each bottle is labeled and dated and good for one year from the date it is made. A little goes a long way – so one jar should last you all year.
I use it every night on my feet, hands and lips. And not just for winter – you will find it is very handy after a day of Spring/Summer gardening and Fall bulb planting.
